Rob Eissler Elementary School and Mittie J. Campbell Elementary School both opened in August, the first finished projects from Conroe ISD's $1.97 billion bond package that voters approved in November 2023. Eissler Elementary can hold 950 students and feeds into The Woodlands High School zone.
The bond passed across three propositions with a two-cent tax rate increase. Nine construction projects are underway across the district. The board approved attendance zones for the two new campuses at its January meeting after collecting public input and running enrollment projections.
The biggest project still ahead is Timber Mill High School, set to open in 2027 as Conroe ISD's seventh feeder zone. That campus will sit on North Loop 336 next to Stockton Junior High, Bozman Intermediate, and Patterson Elementary.
District officials say the construction is about keeping up with growth. Montgomery County keeps adding residents, and the schools need to follow. When the district asked for name suggestions for three upcoming schools, hundreds of people sent in ideas.
