The Woodlands Farmers Market is ditching its seasonal schedule. The Saturday market at Grogan's Mill Village Center, which has run March through November since 2007, will start operating every week of the year beginning the first Saturday in January.

Twenty-five new vendors are joining, pushing the total past 90 and making it one of the bigger farmers markets in the Houston area. The new additions include organic farms from the Brazos Valley, a honey producer, artisan cheese makers, and a prepared food section with food trucks and pop-up kitchens from local restaurants.

Organizers say people kept showing up even as the weather got cooler, so there was no reason to shut down for winter. Average Saturday attendance was over 2,500 during the fall, and the market's social media accounts have 18,000 followers.

The covered pavilion at Grogan's Mill makes year-round operations doable even when it rains. The township approved extra parking on nearby streets during market hours, which should help with the overflow that's been annoying neighbors for years.
